This Wednesday, Samur-Civil Protection health workers treated 11 people for mild poisoning after a fire started on the ground floor of a 10-story building located in the Madrid neighborhood of Orcasur, in the Usera district, which has been quickly extinguished by firefighters.

When the firefighters arrived, the fire was “quite developed” and the tenants of the burned apartment, who had left on their own, had left the door open, so “the staircase was flooded with smoke and it made it difficult for us to inspection and evacuation tasks of people”.

“Basically the room, a bedroom where the fire occurred, has been affected. The rest of the rooms have been affected by smoke, but there has not been widespread damage, only in the room where the fire occurred,” explained the Chief of the Madrid Fire Department, Jesús Borruel.
