Eight arrested for stealing engines and manipulating vehicle license plates in Usera

The National Police have arrested eight people in the Madrid district of Usera as alleged perpetrators of a crime against property and documentary falsification when they were handling two vehicles whose registration plates had been altered.

These young people, who wore gloves and covered their faces, were surprised by the police when they were manipulating a vehicle and a van at dawn last Sunday.

After their identification, the agents were able to verify that the registration plates presented alterations with signs of having been tampered with. The agents, making inquiries, found out that they corresponded to another vehicle.

Two illegally sourced engine blocks were also found inside the van.

In the search, an inhibitor, three maces, a pick, a shear, screwdrivers and more tools to commit the illegal acts were also intervened.

For these events, the eight men were arrested and placed at the disposal of the judicial authority.
