Spring seems to have already arrived in La Garrotxa, as seen in this series of photographs in La Vanguardia’s Readers’ Photos of the multicolored fields of the Vall d’en Bas.
The Vall d’en Bas is surrounded by mountain ranges and rugged ridges such as those of Cabrera dels Llancers, Freixaneda or El Puigsacalm, as well as meadows and forests of beech, oak and oak trees.
One of the best observation points, for example, is the Salt de la Coromina. From here we can enjoy a magnificent panoramic view of the Vall d’en Bas and the rest of the Garrotxa region.
This plain is located in the municipality of Vall d’en Bas, crisscrossed by a multitude of rivers and streams that pour their waters into the Fluvià River.
It has one of the most fertile soils in all of Catalonia, where it seems that the drought has not affected it anywhere near as much as in other places. This is how it is understood that it has already exploded this spring in February.
