The Civil Guard of Mejorada del Campo has dismantled an organization made up of seven people that stole merchandise from trucks and stored it for sale in rented industrial warehouses, where products valued at 2.5 million euros were seized.

The investigation began on July 10, when the owner of a truck reported the theft of the tractor unit and the trailer loaded with merchandise, which he had parked in a truck park in the town.

The data provided by the victim gave rise to a search device, contrasting in parallel the facts that had a similar “modus operandi”.

Finally, days later they managed to locate an industrial warehouse in the Vicálvaro neighborhood, where the stolen material could be stored.

The surveillance carried out made it possible to identify the ringleader, who was in charge of selecting the target, generally marking the truck to be stolen, taking advantage of the carelessness of the carrier. He also had a person who leased the ship, giving a legal appearance to the operations.

At the end of last week, the tractor unit was located in a service station on the M50 highway and the trailer in Getafe.

The agents carried out four home searches, one in the warehouse located in Vicálvaro, where more than 10,000 products reported as stolen were recovered, including 237 bicycles of a well-known commercial brand.

The agents also found a consignment of olive oil on which a health alert from the Extremaduran authorities weighed because it was not suitable for human consumption, in addition to a large number of household appliances, drinks, air conditioning equipment or footwear from prestigious Spanish factories, whose value exceeds two and a half million euros.

In La Cañada Real, three more searches were carried out, where a marijuana plantation made up of 231 plants in an advanced state of germination was also located, for which the sister of the ringleader of the plot and her sentimental partner were arrested.

Those investigated in this operation, three of them arrested, are accused of crimes of robbery with force, belonging to a criminal group and two crimes against public health.
