Andorra’s elections have an unappealable winner: Xavier Espot. The current Cap de Govern is the great winner of the appointment with the polls after the success of Demòcrates with his unmitigated victory that allowed him to reap 16 seats.
The success of the party led by Espot also has a key factor: sweeping the polls without suffering the wear and tear of being the formation that has been leading the country for twelve years. The legislature that is now beginning will allow Demòcrates to govern alone.
The trust placed by voters in Xavier Espot’s party has punished his government partner, the Liberals, and Action. These two formations registered split processes that have taken their toll at the polls. In the other pole is Concordia, the formation that has reaped the second place after its incontestable triumph in the parish of Sant Julià de Loire.
The success of this party has displaced the alliance of left-wing formations PS and SPD to third position, with results below the expectations generated. In fact, when they attended the previous elections separately, they registered better results.
