A fire in a signal box in Gavà has caused the first delays of the week in Rodalies de Catalunya, specifically in the circulation of R2 trains between El Prat de Llobregat and Castelldefels. The usual frequency has been altered since early Tuesday morning, Rodalies reported in a statement.
A train runs every 30 minutes between Sant Vicenç de Calders (Tarragona) and Barcelona on line R2 south; there are occasional reinforcements between Vilanova i la Geltrú (Barcelona) and the Catalan capital; and the planned train supply is maintained on lines R13, R14, R15, R16 and R17 with occasional detours through Vilafranca del Penedès (Tarragona).
On Monday around nine o’clock at night the fire was detected in the electrical installations that affect the Gavà enclave and since then Adif technicians have been working on restoring the service and analyzing the causes that have produced the incident.
