An intense day this Saturday for the Firefighters of the Generalitat de Catalunya who are working on the fire that has started on the territorial limit of Catalonia and Aragon and that the strong wind blowing in the area makes it difficult to extinguish.
At the moment, two planes and thirty land means of the Bombers have been assigned. The number of troops displaced by Aragon to help in the tasks of extinction of the forest fire has not been disclosed.
Firefighters have informed the media that the other secondary outbreaks that have been generated this afternoon one kilometer from the main line of action have already been stabilized. On the other hand, the fire is still active and advancing towards the Maials – Almatret axis, Firefighters and units of the Grup d’Actuacions Forestals (GRAF) are working intensively to stop the advance of the fire
According to sources from the Catalan emergency service, they were alerted after four o’clock in the afternoon of this fire, in a depopulated area and visible from the Granja d’Escarp area, in the region of Segrià , and Mequinensa, in Baix Cinca ; right on the border between the two autonomous communities.
On the other hand, Rural Agents of the Generalitat de Catalunya have declared this Saturday the red level in the Catalan territory due to the high risk of fire in 29 of the 32 Catalan regions, in which the alert has also been activated due to the forecast of strong wind during the weekend.
