Real Sociedad midfielder David Silva suffers an injury to the anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee and causes indefinite absence, Real Sociedad reported on Thursday.
“David Silva had to leave the training session yesterday, Wednesday, due to discomfort in his left knee. In the imaging tests carried out, an injury to the anterior cruciate ligament was observed. At this time, he is pending evaluation by a specialist, something that will take place next week”, says the Real Sociedad statement.
Silva, 37, has suffered various muscular problems this season, the last one in the final stretch of the league due to a calf problem and in the preseason he had done a lot of personalized work in the gym in several of the training sessions.
It is the first casualty of the summer at Real and Imanol Alguacil is left with a midfield that is very depleted of troops because, to Silva’s injury, which is presumed to be serious, the departures of Ander Guevara and Asier Illarramendi are added.-
