Four people who had European Arrest or Extradition Orders from different European countries were arrested last June and July in Torrevieja as a result of the collaboration of the Civil Guard with the French Gendarmerie.

Due to the increase in tourists in the summer season, the Spanish authorities cooperate with those of several European countries that have numerous compatriots among them. In this case, with the collaboration of agents of the French Gendarmerie, four individuals have been located and arrested on whom various European Arrest and Surrender or Extradition Warrants were pending.

The first, a 25-year-old man who was wanted by the German judicial authorities for the crime of reckless homicide, was arrested along with his brother, the latter being charged with the crime of usurpation of civil status.

The second, another 25-year-old man, was arrested for an indictment for the commission of an attempted homicide and another for drug trafficking in Germany. In this case, he had a 15-year prison sentence pending from the German authorities.

As the security devices progressed, specifically on July 12 and 13, two new individuals aged 40 and 47 were arrested. This time, claimed by the Romanian judicial authorities for a crime of smuggling and another of money laundering, respectively.

All the detainees along with the proceedings were placed at the disposal of the Central Investigating Courts of the National Court of Madrid, as it is the competent judicial body.
