This Friday, the Civil Guard arrested Cándido Conde-Pumpido Varela, son of the president of the Constitutional Court, Cándido Conde-Pumpido, for allegedly threatening to kill a woman who claims to be his ex-partner, as confirmed to La Vanguardia by police sources. After testifying before a Gender Violence court in Madrid, the arrested person has been released.
Cándido Conde-Pumpido Varela was already arrested last January after being reported for a crime of sexual assault, which was finally filed after the complaint was withdrawn. The woman who reported him months ago ended up withdrawing the complaint before leaving for Brazil.
On this occasion, according to sources close to the investigation, the reported events occurred on the A-6, within the Community of Madrid. From what her alleged victim told the Civil Guard, it appears that her lawyer forced her to get out of the vehicle in which they were traveling, issuing death threats if she did not agree to do so. After the alleged threats, the woman reported what happened at the Villalba Civil Guard barracks.
It was not until this morning that the son of the president of the Constitutional Court was arrested, who after spending a few hours in police stations was brought to judicial custody in a Gender Violence court in the Community of Madrid, as detailed in the same sources.
