Compromís will lead Sumar's candidacy in Valencia and reserves 2 in Alicante and Castellón

There is already an agreement between Compromís and Sumar. While waiting for Podemos to decide how it will be presented in the Valencian Community (last minute on Thursday it slipped the possibility of doing it alone), the negotiators of the platform led by Yolanda Díaz and Compromís have reached an agreement.

As explained by Compromís, the coalition will elect the number 1 for Valencia (who will be a kind of country candidate and will monopolize the electoral posters) in addition to the three number two for Alicante, Castellón and, also, Valencia. The 1 for Alicante will be for Sumar and the headliner for Castellón for an independent consensus. No less important: the name of the coalition will be Compromís-Sumar. In addition, the Valencian agenda is respected and autonomy is given to the coalition that will have a “bilateral” relationship with the platform of the vice president of the Government.

This morning, the executives of the three parties that make up Compromís (Més Compromís, Iniciativa del Poble Valencià and Els Verds-Equo) have ratified the content of the agreement reached. Despite the fact that the negotiations began three days after Pedro Sánchez called the general elections on 23-J, the complicated negotiation has been carried out until the last day.

Saved this first obstacle, it is necessary to see how Podemos fits into this puzzle, which could only have the number 1 prize for Alicante, as long as Sumar gave it to him. The possibility of occupying the three for Valencia and Alicante, would place the purple candidates in very suffering positions since they would have to achieve good results -at the level of those achieved by És el moment and A la Valenciana in the general elections of 2015 and 2016- to ensure their presence in the Congress of Deputies. And it is that the 2 and 4 by Valencia and Alicante, are again for Compromís.
