Jaume Collboni will be next Friday, July 14, French National Day, invited by the mayoress of the French capital, the socialist Anne Hidalgo. This will be the first international appointment of the new mayor of Barcelona.

Hidago and Collboni will hold their first institutional meeting to strengthen collaboration between the two cities, which in recent years have acted together in the field of international relations and the role of cities. In fact, the previous mayor, Ada Colau, had an excellent relationship with her French counterpart. Paris was the guest city of Barcelona at the Mercè festivities in 2016.

The links between Barcelona and Paris are especially strong within the main international networks of cities, such as C40 and Eurocities.

Jaume Collboni will visit Paris accompanied by the Commissioner for International Relations and Promotion of the City, Pau Solanilla. The institutional agenda provides for the mayor of Barcelona to accompany Anne Hidalgo in the military parade for the French National Holiday, which takes place on the Champs Elysées. Later, she will also participate in the lunch of the troops that is offered at the Paris City Hall.

The bilateral meeting between Jaume Collboni and Anne Hidalgo will be held in the institutional office of the mayoress of Paris.
