Cervera affirms that the budget pact with the PSC in Lleida defends the ERC-Junts legacy

The spokesperson for Junts in the Paeria of Lleida, Violant Cervera, has responded to the reproaches of other opposition groups to the council after the agreement with the PSC government team to approve next year’s municipal budget.

The former Councilor for Social Rights wanted to make it clear that this pact does not mean the renunciation in “any case” of her electoral program that drew on the work carried out by the former mandate, but rather it contemplates the “follow-up” of initiatives that were projected with the former lieutenant of Mayor Toni Postius at the head of the Junts group and former mayor Miquel Pueyo (ERC). “We will defend this legacy with all the firmness in the world,” the Junts spokesperson told the Lleida council, which she has categorically ruled out becoming part of the socialist government.

Cervera has said that they will do the “impossible” to develop projects such as the Station Plan and the Torreblanca-Quatre Pilans industrial estate. Furthermore, he has insisted again that they feel “comfortable” making a “constructive and demanding opposition.”

“We will remain in this position because it is what can allow us to reach an agreement with the government team to try to move projects forward,” he indicated.

The Junts spokesperson made these statements during the municipal group’s traditional Christmas breakfast with the media.
