The Spanish tennis player Carlos Alcaraz has announced this Tuesday that he will not be able to play the Mexican Open, in Acapulco, in which he was going to debut this Wednesday, due to the injury he suffered last Sunday during the final of the Rio de Janeiro tournament against the British Cameron norrie.
“Unfortunately I will not be able to play in the Mexican Open. I have a grade 1 strain in the hamstring of my right leg that will take me to be out for several days, according to the tests I have done this morning,” Alcaraz himself reported in his Instagram account.
“It hurts me a lot not to compete here, but now it’s time to think about recovering to try to be ready as soon as possible. I hope we see each other soon!”, the Murcian said goodbye.
Carlos Alcaraz was the first seed in Acapulco and was going to debut this Wednesday against the American Mackenzie McDonald.
The British tennis player Cameron Norrie, fifth seeded in the Acapulco Open tennis, has also announced this Tuesday that he will not play the Mexican tournament due to fatigue.
