The airport security company I-SEC and the workers’ strike committee have reached a labor agreement at dawn that calls for the cancellation of the strike by security guards at El Prat Airport scheduled for next Thursday, August 10.

Genoveva Sierra, president of the works council at the Barcelona airport, has confirmed that the agreement between the company I-SEC and the strike committee has finally been signed around 12:30 p.m. after a meeting of about 15 hours in the Department of Labor of the Generalitat.

After some tense negotiations, which have been about to break down, the company has accepted various improvements in the working and social conditions of the workers, who demanded parity in the workforce with the hiring of more women, various salary bonuses (such as having languages ), as well as more rest time.

The company I-SEC Spain Aviation Security employs nearly 500 security guards at the Barcelona Airport. The Government had decreed a minimum service of 90% in the three shifts for the strike of the security guards at the Barcelona Airport that had been called as of August 10 by various unions and that ultimately will not take place.

The El Prat operation was already seriously affected in August 2017 by a strike by this same group, a service then managed by the Eulen company.
