The Eaton Fire has now expanded to nearly 14,000 acres with thousands of structures damaged or destroyed. Fire Chief Anthony Marrone stated that about 4,000 to 5,000 structures have been affected, with 3% containment and 5,527 firefighters on the scene. Despite a firefighter’s injury, the Mount Wilson Observatory remains unharmed. Marrone highlighted the region’s improved readiness for upcoming red flag events.
