The plenary session of Calaf has unanimously tried to request the Department of the Presidency to create the region of Alta Segarra.
At the moment, with the Generalitat, there is only a verbal agreement and, therefore, the first procedure consists of the 8 municipalities of the region, Calaf, Calonge de Segarra, Castellfollit de Riubregós, Els Prats de Rei, Pujalt, Sant Martí de Sesgueioles, Sant Pere Sallavinera y Veciana, formally present the demand to the Generalitat so that there is a written agreement.
From here on, it will have to continue working as a Mancomunitat, but funds can be received as a supra-municipal administration.
The municipalities work with the objective that, as of 2027, the new Regional Council of Alta Segarra can be chosen.
