Bad news for the world of cinema. Cindy Morgan, known for her role in the 1980 film Caddyshack, has died at the age of 69. As TMZ reported this Saturday, it was Morgan’s roommate who found her dead at her home in Lake Worth Beach, Florida. The investigation is open, but as a representative of Palm Beach County assured the aforementioned media, authorities suspect that the actress died of “natural causes.”
According to TMZ, Morgan’s roommate arrived home after taking a trip on December 30, 2023. Apparently, she knocked on the actress’s bedroom door without receiving an answer. That’s when she noticed a strong smell coming from her room and she called the police, who pronounced her dead at the scene. The last time her partner saw her alive was on December 19.
Regarding her professional career, according to IMDb, her last production was Face of the Trinity, which came out in 2022. The actress lent her voice to the main character’s mother. Apparently, she currently did not have any projects underway. Born in Chicago, United States, Cindy rose to fame for her outstanding performance in Caddyshack, where she played Lacey Underall, the attractive and charismatic bombshell of the golf course, a role that marked the beginning of her successful career in the film industry.
The actress also made her mark in the world of science fiction, since she played Lora and Yori in Tron. During her professional career she participated in various projects, including appearances on the nighttime soap opera Falcon Crest, as well as television series such as CHiPs, The Larry Sanders Show, Amazing Stories or The Love Boat, among many others. Her last role in the world of cinema was in Empty Sky, in 2011.
A lover of sports and animals, Cindy Morgan was also a great supporter of philanthropic causes. The actress actively dedicated herself to working on projects aimed at helping veterans of the United States Armed Forces, especially those who participated in the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq. Cindy helped raise funds for the Illinois Family Relief Fund, which provides support to families of National Guard members, reservists, and those on active duty. Without a doubt, her loss leaves a great void, not only because of her good work in front of the cameras, but because of her commitment to the causes in which she believed.
