The colors of autumn have already begun to emerge on the Pont de la Riera, in Sant Pere de Torelló, in the region of Osona, as we can see in these images in The Photos of the Readers of La Vanguardia.

This Romanesque bridge with a single arch has been erected since medieval times over the River Ges, a tributary of the Ter. The Ges Valley is a valley currently made up of three municipalities: Torelló, Sant Pere de Torelló and Sant Vicenç de Torelló.

The Romanesque bridge of La Riera, together with that of Targarona, was part of the paths used to move around the Osona or Garrotxa region. It was especially useful for taking livestock to fairs and pastures.

Due to a heavy downpour that occurred in 1940, the medieval bridge suffered damage and had to be rehabilitated. Currently, it is located within the Mas la Riera estate.

At this time of year, even the waters of the Ges are covered with fallen leaves from the trees, which, on dry land, form authentic carpets of autumn colors, as we see in the photographs.
