All of Spain cries. Concha Velasco died this Saturday, December 2, at the Puerta de Hierro Hospital in Majadahonda, at the age of 84, after two years removed from her beloved scenes. The news was confirmed by her children, Manuel and Paco, through a statement sent to the media. The actress’s family explained that her transfer occurred “as a result of a complication in her illness.” The news coincided with the broadcast of Blood Ties, on RTVE, where the actress reviewed some aspects of her life. One had to do with the fundamental role that Andreu Buenafuente played in one of the darkest episodes of her life.

In this installment of the format, which is part of the new season of the program, Concha Velasco had no qualms about talking about the most difficult chapter of her life: a suicide attempt that Buenafuente avoided accidentally and without knowing it. The artist opened up like never before in a sincere interview in which she revealed this very intimate moment in her life. The actress then said that, at the time of the events, she was in a difficult stage in which, due to financial problems, she had lost her house and was staying in a hotel.

While in the hotel room, along with her dog, she saw Paco Marsó on a television set talking about the relationship they both had. The couple was married from 1977 to 2005. “I remember him saying: ‘I have never loved Concha,’ ‘our relationship has never been real’… and I remember hearing him saying those things and I grabbed everything he had in the mini bar.” and I took a bottle of Lexatin pills,” expressed the actress, revealing an episode totally unknown until now.

The interpreter assured that at that moment she was only thinking about reducing the pain she felt. “It’s not that I wanted to commit suicide, I wanted to go to sleep and have the pain go away,” she revealed in the aforementioned program. In this format, the comedian Andreu Buenafuente and Silvia Abril, the comedian’s wife, have joined the testimonies of the actress, whom they consider a second mother, to comment on what happened that night.

And, moments after ingesting all those pills, the actress decided to change the channel and watch Buenafuente’s program, whom she always followed. “She never misses it, she is very passionate about Andreu,” expressed Silvia Abril before the Lazos de sangre cameras. At that moment, Concha saw the presenter doing her usual monologue and began to laugh non-stop. The fact is that, due to the coughing attack caused by laughter, the actress vomited everything she had ingested.

“I threw it all away and called the hotel doctor who told me: ‘Well, you’ve had your stomach pumped thanks to Buenafuente,'” Concha revealed. The actress never thought about taking pills again… and her great friend had reminded her of the good things in her life. In the program, Andreu Buenafuente and Silvia Abril acknowledge that they love the veteran actress very much. Without a doubt, her loss will have been a great blow to the marriage.
