Britney Spears is once again at the center of controversy. The 41-year-old artist has returned to the news after a few quiet months due to a “encounter” that she experienced last Wednesday in a restaurant in Las Vegas.

Throughout Thursday, July 6, the different versions of what had happened the night before between the ‘princess of pop’ and the new promise of the NBA, the 19-year-old French athlete Víctor Wembanyama, were discussed.

Although both parties have different versions of the events, yesterday the impartial opinion of the Nevada police was known, since the authorities traveled to the place where everything happened motivated by a call that had alerted of an attack.

As they have told different media, around eleven o’clock last Wednesday, “the officers responded to (the alert from) a property at 3700 Las Vegas Boulevard regarding an investigation for assault.” According to the American media, everything happened at the Catch restaurant, inside the luxurious hotel with Aria casino, where the athlete was having dinner and where Spears arrived with her husband and two other companions.

The moment the Toxic, Womanizer or Circus singer saw the basketball player, Britney Spears came up to greet him and explain how much she admires him and even asked him for a photo. At that moment, a security guard allegedly addressed the artist in a threatening manner to prevent her from approaching her and slapped her.

According to what a witness told TMZ, “Spears’ glasses flew off her face and crashed to the ground.” Faced with such a situation, the American backed off and she returned with the group she had come with and she sat at the table to eat dinner. From this moment, the versions change.

According to TMZ, the guard later approached the table and apologized to the artist, who would have accepted them, justifying the media pressure and the attitude of some harassing fans. The problem is that Spears has spoken and explained that she did not receive any kind of forgiveness and that she is still waiting for it.

Sam Asghari, Britney Spears’ husband, spoke openly in a story that he uploaded to his official Instagram account: “I am against violence in all its forms, especially if there is no justification for having to defend yourself or someone else.” someone who can’t.

In a message that he deleted shortly after, Spears’s partner finished explaining: “I cannot imagine a scenario in which an unarmed fan expressing any kind of emotion or appreciation for a celebrity could be physically attacked, let alone least punch him in the face for touching someone on the shoulder. Changes are needed from above, I look forward to them. The blame must lie with the coward who did this, with the people who hired him without proper investigation, and with a systemic culture of contempt for women in sports and entertainment.”

The athlete, for his part, has spoken to the sports press and has clarified that he does not know exactly what happened, but that Spears grabbed him: “I did not see what happened because I was walking forward and they told me: ‘Don’t stop’ . But that person grabbed me from behind, she didn’t touch my shoulder, she grabbed me from behind, and security pushed her away. I don’t know how hard, really. But security threw her out of it. I didn’t stop so I could come and have a nice dinner.”

”Traumatic experiences are not new to me. (…) I decided to approach him and congratulate him on his successes. He was really tall so I tapped him on the shoulder to get his attention. I am aware of the player’s statements when he says that I ‘grabbed him from behind’, but I just touched him on the shoulder. His security guard punched me in the face without looking back, in front of a crowd. Nearly knocking me over and dropping my glasses,’ the Mississippi woman explained on her official Instagram.

To end her statement, the singer thanked the fans for their support and the detectives and police for their investigation of the case, ending by saying that there is “too much violence in the world.”
