Bárbara Rey is going through one of the worst moments of her life. After the appearance of her son Ángel Cristo on television, the former star has collapsed. Since the controversy broke out after the incendiary statements of her eldest son, the woman from Murcia decided to take refuge in Marbella, where she has remained since the new year began.
It was precisely there where the former star became the protagonist of an alleged altercation in a game room. At the beginning of this month of January, the woman from Murcia went to a bingo hall in the town of Malaga, and there she was involved in an altercation in which she apparently ended up confronting the employees, whom she called “scoundrels” and “criminals.”
This is demonstrated by some images recorded at that time and broadcast on TardeAR, where Bárbara Rey can be seen apparently complaining to the employees, visibly nervous and upset. “You are scoundrels, it’s not the first time,” the star can be heard.
According to a witness to the events, Bárbara Rey would be upset because she had played many cards, but someone had called bingo before her, which did not sit well with her. “When the jackpot came out she got very nervous saying ‘What thieves you are!'” says the source.
“When another woman sang, she got angry and got up from the table, complaining. The staff started to calm her down,” says the source. “The game started and she didn’t want to shut up. All the people were complaining.”
Bárbara Rey’s state of nervousness would have been such that those in charge of the establishment would have invited her to leave the place so that she could calm down. “Since she wouldn’t shut up, they asked her to leave the room.”
However, the woman from Murcia has another version of what happened. According to Bárbara herself, she told journalist Leticia Requejo, she was not involved in any altercation, and what can be seen in the images is simply herself talking to an acquaintance about some pants. “She says it’s a lie, no one has fired her.”
Ángel Cristo Jr. spoke at length about his mother’s visits to the game rooms, something he experienced since he was just a child. “I have seen her spend a lot of money at the casino: from 100 to 30,000 euros in one night,” said the former star’s eldest son.
The one from Totana has never clarified how much money she could have spent on gambling – she estimated that more than a million euros – but she did say in an interview in Deluxe in 2014 that she had opened her eyes in time. “With bingo in particular I have seen people lose properties and become very obsessed. I went first thing in the morning until they closed. I have come to leave with my ass squared away, as they say.”
