Brazil improvises shelter for dogs lost during heavy rains

The heavy rains that have been recorded these days in Brazil have caused flooding, damage and, unfortunately, dozens of deaths. In Rio Grande do Sul there are 107 deaths and 136 missing. According to state authorities, more than 230,000 people have been displaced.

Given such figures, it is not surprising that animals have also suffered the consequences of the storm. The same sources do not dare to quantify the loss of animals, but they recognize that there are thousands. Faced with this situation, hundreds of volunteers have coordinated to shelter thousands of dogs that arrive in Canoas.

There they receive all the care they need. Every hour, between twenty and thirty dogs arrive at the shelter sick or homeless.
