Timothy O’Day, the current chief executive officer, will be stepping down from his role on that date. Stepping into his shoes will be Brian Kaner, the company’s current president and chief operating officer, following the Annual General Meeting.

Timothy O’Day has been a driving force behind Boyd Group’s growth trajectory since his entry into Gerber Collision & Glass back in 1998. His leadership journey saw him holding pivotal roles within the organization, culminating in his appointment as CEO in 2020 after Boyd’s acquisition of Gerber in 2004.

Based in Winnipeg, Boyd Group Services Inc. operates a network of collision repair centers spanning North America. Their trade names include Boyd Autobody & Glass in Canada and Gerber Collision & Glass in the US. The company also offers auto glass services, in addition to third-party claims and roadside assistance services.

The Torch Passes to Brian Kaner

Brian Kaner, with a rich background as the former CEO and president of Pep Boys & Icahn Automotive Services, is all set to take the helm as CEO of Boyd Group Services Inc. Kaner’s academic credentials include a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Illinois State University.

Reflecting on this pivotal moment, Timothy O’Day expressed his confidence in Kaner’s abilities to lead Boyd Group into the future. O’Day will continue to play a supportive role in the transition process until the end of 2025.

The Board of Directors at Boyd Group unanimously supported Kaner’s appointment as the next CEO, with Dave Brown, the independent chair, commending O’Day’s leadership and showing optimism towards Kaner’s tenure.
