The Benidorm City Council and the Abreca association will organize for the seventh consecutive year the great New Year’s Eve party to be held on the Paseo de Levante. An attendance of about 10,000 people is expected, according to what the Festival Councilor, Mariló Cebreros, announced this week. With a novelty: this year the chimes will be broadcast on a giant screen at local time and, one hour later, in connection with Big Ben on British television.
The city of skyscrapers has become a reference point for the festive New Year’s Eve for thousands of visitors who come to the party dinners at its hotels, which this year will once again be full in many cases. Couples, families and friends who return to the same establishment every year are very numerous, among other things, because the capital of the Marina Baixa offers an incomparable atmosphere and variety of leisure activities.
Benidorm already has 90% of its beds reserved for the last weekend of the year and on the entire Alicante coast it is expected to exceed 80.4%, according to the data provided yesterday by the Minister of Tourism, Nuria Montes. In all the hotels on the coast of the Valencian Community, occupancy will be around 78% on the New Year’s Eve weekend.
Regarding the city of Valencia, occupancy during the last weekend of the year will reach 72.3%, and on the coast of the province it will remain at 56.8%. On the coast of Castellón, the forecast stands at 62.9%.
Regarding the hotels in the interior, they communicate an occupancy forecast of close to 60%, higher in the province of Alicante, where they will be close to 70%.
The party planned on the Paseo de Levante in Benidorm will begin in the afternoon, from 7 p.m., and will last until 1:30 in the morning with performances by three local DJs, as well as national and international entertainment by a speaker. ‘ professional. A large number of beachfront entertainment venues have joined this year-end macro-party and will distribute grapes and party favors for the crowd that will gather at midnight to welcome 2024 in one of the most beautiful places. emblematic of the city.
Once the chimes have finished, Spanish time, a great pyromusical show will begin that will combine music and fireworks in a synchronized way. As a novelty, at one in the morning the party will connect with British television to broadcast the chimes from Big Ben in London. “It is a deference that we want to have with tourists of that nationality, who in increasing numbers choose our city to say goodbye to the year,” explained councilor Cebreros.
Furthermore, in order to offer greater coverage of the chimes and the performances planned that night, six LED screens will be installed; one on the stage and five more on the beach, from which all those who attend the party can follow the chimes.
As in previous editions, and with the aim of disturbing the neighbors as little as possible, the installed speakers will be directed towards the sea.
