Barça goes straight for the title poker

In a Johan Cruyff with sold out tickets to see their stars, Barça responded with a great game. They had to beat Madrid CFF to pave the way to the League title – they will certify it mathematically this Saturday if they win in Granada – and the Blaugrana footballers did not fail, who showed off against the Madrid team (8-0), who arrived in Barcelona with two points from the Champions League positions. Neither the wear and tear of the match at Stamford Bridge, nor the finals of the Queen’s Cup and the Champions League on the horizon, clouded the judgment of a team that is going straight for the title poker this year.

The match was a party from before the ball started rolling, with the corridor included for the culé reserve team, which was proclaimed champion of the Second Division last weekend. And with the opening whistle it became a display of goals led by a stellar Alexia and Mariona, with two goals and four assists between them.

After the intense Champions League semi-final at Stamford Bridge, Giráldez presented an eleven full of rotations against Madrid CFF in which only Patri Guijarro repeated. The Balearic midfielder, celebrating her 300th game wearing the Blaugrana jersey, once again gave a performance at the Johan Cruyff, participating very actively in attack and always attentive in defense.

A heel from his boots almost became the assist for the first goal and shortly after he sent a powerful shot rubbing the post until the third time, it worked. The play for the team’s first goal came from his feet seven minutes into the game. A ball that he sent to Claudia Pina so that the woman from Montcada could filter it into the boots of Alexia Putellas, who without thinking beat Paola Ulloa.

At the quarter-hour mark, the second fell, the work of Mariona Caldentey with a shot that touched Ana González, confusing her goalkeeper. Barça felt comfortable and it didn’t take long for the goals to keep coming. After half an hour of the game, Alexia became an assistant to give the goal to Pina, who only had to cross her shot to beat Ulloa.

And just before the break, Vicky López, assisted by Mariona, and Esmee Brugts, in a quick counterattack, again with a pass from Alexia Putellas, extended the lead to 5-0.

The second half started with the same intensity and just three minutes later Marta Torrejón became the sixth scorer of the afternoon, heading in a corner served by Alexia Putellas. After the sixth, the Blaugrana would take their foot off the accelerator and, although with less intensity, they never stopped looking for the goal of an Ulloa who avoided a bigger win. And with the match practically over came the goals from Marta Torrejón and Ona Batlle. Seven scorers for the eight culés goals.

In three days, in Granada, Barça can mathematically certify the League and add its second title of the season after the Super Cup won at the beginning of the year.
