FC Barcelona visits Peñíscola this Tuesday at 8:30 p.m. to play the quarterfinals of the Copa del Rey. The tie is a single match, so the winner of this will qualify directly for the ‘Final Four’.
The Barça team, the current champion of the competition, will be able to count on players who were in the dry dock in recent weeks, such as Dyego, Pito, Catela and Sergio Lozano, who is playing again in a Cup match, a competition in which he injured his last April 1st. The return of these four allows Jesús Velasco to put together a call-up with twelve players from the first team, despite the fact that “the boys from the reserve team have helped us a lot”, as Antonio, close of FC Barcelona and the National Team, acknowledges.
Barça, who have been champions in eight of the thirteen editions held, visit the Juan Vizcarro pavilion for the second time this season. In the league match, the Catalans tied the game in the final moments with a goal from Dyego, so they know that “it will be a complicated game, because it is a small court and the people are on top.” Even so, Antonio trusts the team, since “in these types of games we always take a step forward.”
The Barça team, which has just beaten Inter Movistar 0-3 in the round of 16, will once again be a visitor in the Copa del Rey. This time against a Peñíscola team that started the season at a high level, even reaching playoff positions. However, the newly promoted team has not won in the league since November, which has dropped them to second-to-last position.
The rest of the qualifiers pit Real Betis against Mallorca Palma Futsal, Jimbee Cartagena, runner-up of the last edition, against Manzanares and Jaén FS against Osasuna Magna.
