The president of the Community of Madrid, Isabel Díaz Ayuso, travels this afternoon to Rome (Italy) where this Saturday she will hold an audience with His Holiness Pope Francis on the occasion of the celebration of the centenary of the canonization of San Isidro Labrador, patron saint of the Madrid city.

To the meeting, which will be at 10:00 am in the Apostolic Palace of Vatican City. The mayor of the capital, José Luis Martínez-Almeida, will also attend.

“The audience is to commemorate, precisely, the jubilee year granted to the city of Madrid as a consequence of the IV centenary of the canonization of San Isidro. It has been an important date that we have celebrated, in which there have been numerous activities, which started from a collaboration agreement between the Archbishopric of Madrid, Cardinal Osoro, the Community of Madrid and the City Council”, explained Almeida.
