Some time ago the Automobile, the former Barcelona International Motor Show, changed its chassis to house not only cars and catapult itself as a great showcase of mobility services. And in this edition, which will be held from May 13 to 21 at the Montjuïc fairgrounds, it will share space with Motoh!, a fair dedicated to motorcycles, which had not been held since 2019, before the coronavirus pandemic. covid.

They have not met since 1999 and now they will do so during the first weekend of the event. “At the moment it is a punctual coincidence, thinking of looking for synergies,” explained the director of Automobile, José Miguel García, at a press conference this Thursday. “We’ll see how it works”, he replied about whether this union is called to consolidate.

In any case, according to what the president of the show, Enrique Lacalle, has reported, the forecast is to exceed the figure of 300,000 attendees reached in the last edition of the biannual fair, held in 2021. “We are a reference in Europe, when other shows close we we not only continue, but we grow”, Lacalle celebrated. “This is produced thanks to the efforts of Fira, Anfac and the city of Barcelona”, stated Lacalle, recalling that the Automobile already has 104 years of history.

The Automobile space will bring together 31 brands, surpassing the 22 in 2021. 14 firsts will be presented, three of them world-wide. As has already been a trend in recent editions, everything related to the electric vehicle will have a special role. Also other areas such as urban mobility, renting or carsharing.
