After several weeks of absence, Junts per Catalunya deputy Aurora Madaula has resumed her activity in the Parliament of Catalonia this Monday and has participated by telematic means in the meeting of the Bureau, which took place this afternoon instead of Tuesday as it is usual
Madaula, second secretary of that body, had not participated in the meetings of the Board since the beginning of December. After denouncing his party “comrades” on November 24 and accusing them of “silent violence” – a fact that caused a lot of discomfort in the majority of the parliamentary group and in a large part of the leadership of Carles Puigdemont’s party – and After the president of the Catalan Chamber, Anna Erra, asked her to resign from the governing body of the institution, not trusting her, the parliamentarian took a leave of absence. It was December 5th.
The Parliament itself has released today a photograph of the meeting in which Madaula, wearing a feminist badge, and another member of the body, the socialist Ferran Pedret, appear on a screen, participating in the meeting through telematic means.
In any case, in these previous weeks he had already been seen at some public event with the president of JxCat, Laura Borràs, for example, at the Ateneu in Barcelona on January 18. The vice president of post-convergent training also resumes her activity as a university teacher.
His complaint for harassment of fellow members of the parliamentary group, filed through the internal channels of the Parliament, before the Equality Office, is still pending resolution or no information in this regard has emerged. However, if there is no sanction at the end of the process, no details of it should transcend. In fact, it should not even be public that there is a complaint, although Madaula accused his colleagues from the lectern of the chamber during a public event. The deputy’s complaint follows that of another former member of the Junts group, Cristina Casol, who was expelled after the report prepared by an external company indicated that the reported facts could not be proven.
Madaula’s intention is to resume her parliamentary work electronically – she is part of three commissions and the presentation of the Democratic Memory Law of Catalonia -, although she must take her seat at the Table in the next plenary session, which will be held on February 20, according to sources close to him consulted by Efe.
