Primavera Sound has closed its first weekend of the two that this year includes the festival with 220,500 attendees at the Parc del Fòrum in Barcelona over three days. A figure that represents a historical record for the event.
This has been reported by the organization, which has explained that the venue welcomed 66,000 people on Thursday, 74,000 on Friday and 80,500 on Saturday. These data exceed those of 2019, the edition before the pandemic, in which the most massive day registered 63,000 spectators.
The increase in public has caused serious problems for spectators, especially last Thursday, when there were dangerous crowds in certain parts of the venue and queues for everything. On Friday and Saturday, on the other hand, there were no security problems and the queues were more bearable, thanks to the measures adopted by the organization.
In its first post-pandemic edition, the Barcelona festival wanted to make up for the two-year absence by doubling the number of days and concerts, which has also doubled the number of attendees. If before the pandemic the festival lasted a week, adding the weekend concerts at the Parc del Fòrum and the midweek concerts in the city, this year it lasts twelve days and tomorrow it will cross its equator.
