His family released a statement saying that comedian Nick Nemeroff had died Monday. He was 32. His cause of death has not been released.
Nemeroff’s family released a statement via his Instagram account describing him as a comic’s comic who has achieved success in both his native Canada, and the U.S.
“It is with deep sadness that we have to announce the passing of Nick Nemeroff, our dear brother.” The statement stated that Nick’s commitment to standup comedy was remarkable and had produced incredible results.
Nemeroff’s family was a fan of “his unique cadence and labyrinthine deadpan” as well as his fresh take on misdirection driven comedy.
“If Nick was on comedy shows, he would be guaranteed to find new fans. He deserved it, comedy was his life. He was a sweet and generous person, he supported others and he was humble about his accomplishments. That is how Nick will be remembered. We love you Nick. We love you.”
Nemeroff’s first stand-up album, “The Pursuit of Comedy has Ruined My Life,” was nominated for a Juno Award last year, which recognizes Canadian musicians and entertainers.
Nemeroff was also a guest on Conan O’Brien’s talk-show and at the Montreal comedy festival Just for Laughs and the Winnipeg Comedy Festival.
Nemeroff’s family requested that donations be made in his honor to Planned Parenthood chapters in lieu of flowers.
