A fugitive who sexually assaulted a minor for nine years in Italy and who was subject to a European arrest warrant has been arrested in Seville by agents of the National Police.

The escapee had a European Arrest and Surrender Order (OEDE) issued urgently by the Italian authorities, and in less than 48 hours the agents managed to locate and arrest him, as reported by the National Police.

The events for which he was wanted occurred between 2007 and 2016 in Varese (Italy), during which time he was forcing the victim to have sexual relations with him and touch her.

When the agents received the information, and after confirming the validity and submission of the OEDE, which had been issued urgently that same day, they began the efforts to locate it.

The agents established a device that culminated in the rapid arrest of the person under investigation, in less than 48 hours from the dissemination of the OEDE, when he left the home where he was staying.
