On Monday, the Mossos d’Esquadra and the Local Police of Tàrrega arrested a man who stabbed his ex-partner four times in the doorway of his house. According to the newspaper Segre and confirmed by the police, the events occurred early in the morning when the victim, a 42-year-old man, was leaving his house on Vía Lacetània in the capital of Urgell.

His ex-partner was waiting for him on the street and stabbed him at least four times, three in the back and one near the heart. The victim was able to escape and hide in her house. Then he went to the CAP and was transferred to the Arnau de Vilanova Hospital where he has already been discharged. The CAP alerted the police and on Monday the alleged aggressor was arrested at his house.

The detainee is accused of attempted murder and the incident is being investigated as a case of domestic violence. Apparently, after ending the relationship, the aggressor had already caused damage to the victim’s vehicle and that is why he wanted to request a restraining order, since he had also received threats.
