The Mossos d’Esquadra arrested a 22-year-old man on July 1 as the alleged perpetrator of theft. The arrested person has a high criminal activity, with thirty police records for crimes against property committed in the last year, the vast majority for thefts in the airport environment.

The events occurred this past Saturday around 4:00 p.m., when the Mossos learned of the theft of the belongings of a passenger who was in Terminal 1 of the Josep Tarradellas Barcelona-El Prat Airport. The victim was carrying out check-in procedures at the counters of the airline with which he was traveling when a man took the suitcase and a bag he was carrying.

Thanks to the notice of other people who saw the theft and who gave a careful description of the perpetrator, the victim managed to hold the alleged thief in the vicinity of the scene until the rapid arrival of the agents, who arrested him.

Among the stolen belongings were three high-end watches worth 240,000 euros, as well as cash. With the stolen suitcase and bag, the amount of the stolen objects is 245,000 euros. After the police efforts carried out, the agents returned the belongings to the rightful owner.

The detainee went to court last Sunday.
