Those who participate will experience and learn about architecture in an interactive and stimulating way, often in relation to other disciplines such as music and dance and by accessing unique buildings. Every weekend, in addition, an architecture festival will be held in a district.
The Architecture Weeks will go beyond municipal limits: 102 educational centers in the metropolitan area will participate in an architecture program in the classrooms. International competition for ten party walls of the city
An international ideas competition for young architects will be launched on May 30. They will propose how to transform ten party walls, one in each district. Party walls are walls designed to divide another building, but sometimes they are exposed. As they are not designed as exterior facades, they often have deficiencies in the thermal and construction areas. The transformations of these ten party walls will be completed during 2026, and will become the legacy that the World Capital of Architecture Barcelona 2026 will leave to the city.
