The president of the Generalitat, Pere Aragonès, did not want to enter into the assessment of the judicial process facing the president of Junts and the suspended president of the Parliament, Laura Borràs, but he asked for speed in the resolution of the case “to end the interim” in the presidency of the Parliament. Aragonès, who this Friday took over the presidency of the Euroregion Pyrenees Mediterranean, from the hand of the president of the Regional Council of Occitania, Carole Delga, in an event held in Toulouse (France), has limited himself to asking respect for the judicial procedure and for the presumption of innocence.

Borràs was suspended from her position as president of the Parliament, on July 28, when an oral trial was opened against her for alleged irregularities when she was president of the Institució de les Lletres Catalanes (ILC). Since she was suspended, no one has taken over as president of the Chamber, a position whose functions are provisionally exercised by the first vice president, Alba Vergès.
