The State Commission against Violence, Racism, Xenophobia and Intolerance in Sports has proposed a fine of 6,000 euros and “a ban on access to sports venues for a period of 12 months” to the Rayo Vallecano fan who committed a finger in the ass of Sevilla player Lucas Ocampos in the LaLiga matchday on February 5.

The Rayista fan, identified as a minor, was sitting in the front row and “touched a player’s buttock with his finger when he was going to serve from the sideline.” An action that the Anti-Violence Commission understands as a “serious act against the integrity of the visiting team’s footballer.”

In the published note, the commission explains that “after what happened, the spectator and his companions showed a joking and defiant attitude in the face of the player’s protests.” Furthermore, they explain that the event “caused the interruption of the meeting for several minutes.”

Once the match was over and after having identified the offender with the Police, LaLiga announced that it would file a complaint with the Juvenile Prosecutor’s Office. Both Sevilla and Rayo Vallecano issued a statement condemning the attack. The Sevilla club “deeply” regretted the event and stated that it had spoken with LaLiga so that the appropriate measures could be taken.

Lucas Ocampos himself took the floor at the end of the meeting to denounce what he had experienced. “I hope LaLiga takes it seriously as it treats racism or things like that. I don’t think all the people at Rayo are like that, because they always treat us with respect. There is always a fool,” explained the Sevilla player after his team’s victory. .

“I hope it doesn’t happen in other areas, because if it happens in women’s football we know what can happen. I held back because I have two daughters and I hope that tomorrow it doesn’t happen again,” she added.
