The demonstration called by the October 9 Commission began this afternoon without incident with the slogan “Anti-fascist Valencian Country”. The general secretary of Cultural Action of the Valencian Country, ACPV, Toni Gisbert, has defended that this demonstration wants to win back that “for the path of censorship, no, for the path of Valencianness and respect for the Statute, yes”.
Before starting the march, Toni Gisbert said that “the day that the councilors usually speak in Valencian they will be able to say that they defend Valencian. Mr. Mazón and Mrs. Catalá are increasingly subordinated to the extreme right. We call for that they return to legality, regarding the statute and that the language of the Valencian people is spoken, for that they are representatives of the Valencian people.
The president of Esquerra Republicana de Catalunya, Oriol Junqueras, is participating in the demonstration, which is taking place without incident and with a strong police presence.
