Andalusia will begin the summer with a “significant” rise in temperatures from Wednesday, which will exceed 40 degrees during the weekend, with Sunday being the hottest day since 44 degrees will be reached in the provinces of Seville and Córdoba, which means an increase in maximum temperatures of 12 degrees Celsius.

This was explained by the territorial delegate of the State Meteorological Agency (Aemet) in Andalusia, Ceuta and Melilla, Juan de Dios del Pino, who also stressed that “the first part of the week will be marked by a storm that will leave some showers in the eastern part of the region, affecting the provinces of Granada, Jaén and Málaga”

But from Wednesday the temperatures will begin to rise in the western part of Andalusia, mainly in the area of ??the Guadalquivir Valley, which is motivated, among other causes, as detailed by Del Pino, because “the first days of summer are the longest of the year, lasting almost 15 hours, while the nights only last 9 hours, so this causes the surface to receive more heat and the nights being so short, the atmosphere does not have time to cool down”.

As for the maximum temperatures, they will suffer a rise of 12 degrees, exceeding 40 degrees as of Friday, “a situation that will extend during the first days of next week,” he said. And the hottest day will be Sunday, the day on which the provinces of Seville and Córdoba will reach 44 degrees.

Finally, with regard to the nocturnal ones, Del Pino has explained that they will also suffer a significant increase, reaching a minimum of 25 degrees, and “they will not drop below 22-23 degrees Celsius”, has qualified the territorial delegate of the State Meteorological Agency (Aemet) in Andalusia, Ceuta and Melilla.
