Ana Obregón arrived radiant at the most desired press conference since the end of March, when in an exclusive sound Hello! she announced her maternity by surrogacy. Later we would learn that the girl was actually her granddaughter and that she thus fulfilled one of her son Aless’s three wishes before she died. Another of those wishes: to publish the book that the young man wrote and that his mother culminated in spectacular sales results since it was published in April and whose presentation was delayed until today.
The actress, who was emotional while posing for the graphic media, just wanted to talk about her book and avoid commenting on the two main controversies that aroused her à la carte maternity in Miami. But in the end the questions came and a comfortable Obregón, who could not avoid tears at certain moments, took the opportunity to throw a couple of darts from a distance that, without a doubt, reached the center of the target.
The first: the debate that even reached the political class, including ministers, on the fact of using surrogacy, illegal in Spain. The businesswoman wanted to throw balls out and assured that she was not in the case of this controversy from Miami, although she ultimately decided to settle the issue with this celebrated comment in the room: “I am not interested in what anyone says. When you have to bury your only child, whatever criticism is leveled at me, do you know what it does to me? Tickle. The more they criticize, the more it tickles and the more I laugh.” Nothing more to add.
The second controversy: his age to take care of a girl who, when she reaches eighteen, will have an octogenarian mother-grandmother. In this case, Obregón was ironic, saying: “Anita is going to receive all my love, that of her uncles, who is twelve and they come home every second to see her niece, that of her cousins… She has a huge family and when I am not there, she will be more protected than the daughter of Robert de Niro or Al Pacino”, referring to other cases of late paternity.
The Taxi Driver actor has just been a father at 79 while his colleague Al Pacino is expecting a baby at 83 and even asked his girlfriend 54 years younger for a paternity test, assuring that at his age he thought he could not contribute to the conception of a new life.
Obregón, on the other hand, has always known very well what he was doing. He has it all figured out. She is not an irresponsible mother or grandmother. For this reason, he did not want to overlook this discriminatory point regarding the older woman who decides to become a mother, a 68-year-old woman much younger than the two Oscar-winning actors.
Finally, the biologist has thrown a third dart that has fully hit the father of her son, the aristocrat Alessandro Lequio. “That’s enough for him,” she exclaimed when asked about him at the press conference. “Alessandro, your granddaughter is waiting for you at home, because she is your family and she is looking forward to meeting her grandfather,” she told him, knowing that her ex-partner was listening to her from the set of the Ana Rosa program in the one she collaborates with.
Lequio reacted and, as usual with him, opted for discretion. Of course he will go to meet her, but without all of Spain as a spectator of the meeting. He prefers to keep her private life private and not turn it into a serial show. Undoubtedly, two opposite styles, but no one denies that they share the same pain, in addition to a granddaughter who has arrived as she has arrived, cries and laughs every day, as Ana Obregón has done today. An Ana Obregón who has shown that she also knows how to be a warrior.
