A total of 18 people have been arrested within the framework of the so-called ‘Eagle’ operation, accused of belonging to an organization that introduced hashish in drug boats along the coast of Almería.
This operation, in which crimes of belonging to a criminal organization, drug trafficking, illicit possession of weapons and smuggling have been investigated, began in October 2022.
Then, the Civil Guard intercepted a discharge of more than 1,000 kilograms of hashish on the beach known as Perdigal, belonging to the Almeria neighborhood of Costacabana.
Furthermore, in March of last year a second landing took place in the area of ??the University of Almería, in which agents detained seven people and seized 1,700 kilograms of hashish.
The Civil Guard, reported this Saturday in a statement, has carried out five searches and inspections in the towns of Roquetas de Mar, Vícar and Almería.
In all of them he has seized 27,000 euros in cash, three kilograms of hashish samples, a short gun, a frequency wave inhibitor, several mobile and satellite phones, as well as numerous documents.
According to the armed institute, the organization was in charge of contacting the members who were in North Africa and who were the ones who transported the drugs to the coast of Almería in boats.
There, groups of ten people were waiting for them to put the bales into cargo vehicles that were later transported to the ‘nurseries’ for distribution.
The investigation, directed by the Investigative Court 6 of Almería, has been developed by the Organized Crime and Anti-Drug Team (EDOA) of the Organic Unit of the Judicial Police of Almería, with the support of the Central Operational Unit (UCO).
