Agents of the National Police have arrested an inmate in a residence for the elderly in Palma for sexual assault on two inmates of the residence, one of them disabled. The arrest occurred on Saturday, after the health services notified the Police of the abuses committed by one of the inmates.

The facts became known because one of the women warned that the man had entered the room when he was sleeping. The woman, very upset, went to the reception to warn that the man had entered without her consent. She assured that she had lifted her dress and touched her genital area. She then ran out of the room when the woman noticed and started screaming.

The security services of the residence and an assistant from the clinic began to search for the man through the facilities. The clinic employee found the man in another room, where another disabled patient resided. He watched as the man groped the woman on her genitals after removing her underwear and pulling up her dress.

The clinic assistant alerted the security services, while holding the man so that he would not run away, but he punched him in the face with the intention of escaping. The rapid intervention of the security services, who appeared in the room, made it possible for the attacker to be arrested.

The employees of the residence notified the Police, who sent several agents to find out what had happened. When the agents arrived, the man was being held by security and health personnel. The staff explained that, at first, the attacker had left his room in his underwear and was walking through the corridors while he demanded tobacco from the inmates he came across.

The health personnel reproached him for his attitude and ordered him to go into his room, but twenty minutes later, he left the room again and that was when he allegedly committed the sexual assaults on the two women. Police officers took the man into custody.
