Civil Protection of the Generalitat has activated the pre-alert of the Special Plan for Seismic Emergencies in Catalonia (Sismicat) due to an earthquake of magnitude 4.1 registered at 11:23 a.m. in France and felt in the regions of Lleida.

According to the Cartographic and Geological Institute of Catalonia (ICGC), the earthquake was widely felt in the High Pyrenees, Aran and Central Catalonia.

Despite being felt in Catalonia, the effects of the earthquake that occurred in French territory have not caused damage.

Aftershocks have been recorded that have not been perceived in Catalonia.

The epicenter has been located in the northwest of the Val d’Aran, near the Occitan municipality of Beudian. For this reason, in the northern part of Aran it has been noted at a grade 3, which indicates that it has been partially perceived.
