FC Barcelona and Vueling have signed a historic agreement that makes the women’s team the first to have its own plane, personalized with the image of its footballers and which the team will use for its travel. The airline joins the exclusive sponsors of the team as an official partner until June 30, 2026.

The aircraft will be vinyl in the club’s colors, blue and crimson, and will have the image of several of the team’s stars and will be unveiled for the first time this Thursday at an event at the Barcelona airport that will be attended by Aitana Bonmatí, Fridolina Rölfo, Ingrid Engen, Patri Guijarro and Caroline Graham-Hansen.

Thus, FC Barcelona becomes the first in Europe to have its image projected on a regular airliner. The Airbus A320 will operate Vueling routes throughout Europe when it is not transporting the team to its matches. Barça will debut it this Friday to travel to London to play the Champions League semi-final second leg against Chelsea.

It is a “pioneer and iconic action that highlights and values ??the capacity of these players as references for the new generations,” explains the airline, which sees in this agreement “a strategic association to vindicate its Catalan identity and its role as reference company in Europe.”

FC Barcelona was a pioneer when it came to betting on the potential of its women’s team and was the first to present an exclusive sponsor for them when in July 2018 they announced their agreement with Stanley, for 3.5 million euros in exchange for showing off their mark on the shirt.

And it was not the only one. Since then, several brands have opted for this team, which in recent years has become a world reference both in terms of model and football. Heüra, GSL and Bimbo are some of the sponsors that have also joined the Catalan club, beyond the club’s global agreements such as those of Spotify or Nike.
