As reported by the Generalitat Civil Protection, the 112 emergency telephone number received a notice at 11:02 a.m. from the beach lifeguard service, indicating that they had pulled an unconscious man out of the water.

At the time of the incident, there was a lifeguard service on the beach and the yellow flag was waving, which warns of the waves.
With this, there are already 12 fatalities in the summer campaign on the Catalan beaches this year, which started on June 15, which is double the number of the same period of the previous year.
Faced with this situation, Civil Protection has requested extreme precautions on beaches, swimming pools and inland waters, coinciding with an episode of high temperatures.
