Requests for sportswear from inmates at the Can Brians prison have quadrupled since the entry of former Barça player Dani Alves, who is being investigated for an alleged rape.

As Servimedia has learned, Alves is promoting soccer matches and this Friday he scored two goals in one of them, internal sources from the prison services confirm.

The former Barcelona player has been in provisional prison since January 20, when he returned from Mexico voluntarily to give a statement. According to the aforementioned sources, the footballer is fully adapted to life inside the prison, and is very much in tune with his module mates. It is common to see him surrounded by colleagues and also offering many autographs.

The athlete’s lawyer, Miraida Puentes, who visits him every week, assures that Alves is grateful to his classmates who have received him very well and have updated him on prison routine.

Along the same lines, the lawyer confirms that Alves plays soccer with his teammates, constantly chats with everyone and signs autographs. On the other hand, she described as hoaxes the information of these last days about an alleged hunger strike, and other problems of adaptation to prison. Alves, the lawyer points out, is in a good mood, animated and totally confident in his innocence; what he understands is that he is going through a transitory period.
