The Spanish driver Fernando Alonso (Aston Martin) has stated, on the eve of the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix, the second round of the Formula One World Championship, that, despite the podium achieved in the opening test, in Bahrain, he continues “with his feet on the floor”.

“The car gave a very good feeling in Bahrain, and we enjoyed the weekend by getting our first podium of the season. But now we have focused on this weekend and Jeddah,” says the two-time Spanish world champion in statements distributed by Aston Martin.

“Realistically, I think it won’t be until after Australia that we’ll know better what the overall performance is, as by then we’ll have had three very different race weekends and on varied circuits: Bahrain, Saudi Arabia and Australia,” he explains.

“We continue with our feet on the ground and we have to work hard to maintain this start and try to get another good result this weekend”, stressed the Asturian.

Alonso believes that the one in Jeddah “will be a very different challenge, since it is a completely different circuit from that of the first race”. “We spent two weeks in Bahrain and we all familiarized ourselves with the circuit and the conditions, so the learning curve from this Friday will be much steeper,” he adds.
