The mayor of Madrid, José Luis Martínez-Almeida seems to be at his best. In the professional field, it is enough to remember that he obtained an absolute majority in the municipal elections on May 28, ensuring a new legislature for the popular government in the local executive. Personally, it could be said that too, because this weekend he was seen in public with his partner, Teresa Urquijo and Moreno

King Felipe VI chaired, for another year, the Press Bullfight, which closed the San Isidro Fair in the Plaza de las Ventas. It was at that act that Martínez-Almeida attended accompanied by Urquijo and Moreno. Of course, she went at a safe distance since the re-elected mayor of Madrid had to accompany the King and the Minister of Culture, Miquel Iceta. When everyone took a seat, the couple enjoyed the day in adjacent seats.

Teresa Urquijo y Moreno is 26 years old and has a double degree in Law and Business Administration from the Universidad Pontificia Comillas ICAI-ICADE. She is also the daughter of Lucas Urquijo Fernández de Araoz and Beatriz Moreno and Borbón. So she is the granddaughter of Teresa of Bourbon-Dos Sicilies and Bourbon-Parma and, in turn, cousin of King Juan Carlos.

Her maternal grandmother is the one who is treated as Royal Highness, since she is the daughter of Alfonso de Borbón-Dos Sicilias, Duke of Calabria, and Alicia de Borbón-Parma Habsburgo-Lorena, Infanta of Spain. Don Juan Carlos and Doña Sofía, King Felipe VI and his sisters, the princesses Elena and Cristina, attended their parents’ wedding.

Teresa’s father is Lucas Urquijo Fernández de Araoz, a man known in the business world for having been director of communication for the pharmaceutical company Roche Farma. And her maternal grandfather, Jaime Urquijo y Chacón, was president of Energy and Aragonese Industries and vice president of Tabacalera. In addition, Teresa’s brother, Juan Urquijo, was related to Victoria Federica.

It is also known that he has worked as an analyst at JP Morgan, who currently has a job in the financial department of the company Merlin Properties, specifically, as an analyst. He has also worked at international companies in Manila, London and Mexico City, and speaks three languages.
