Esquerra cannot stop the Hard Rock leisure project planned in the countryside of Tarragona so as not to lose the support of the PSC for the budgets of the Generalitat, but it makes moves to attract the common people, who demand an end to the project, the negotiation of the accounts. The latest move by ERC was revealed this Tuesday by the leader of the commons in the Parliament, Jéssica Albiach. It is about reversing the tax cuts that had been promised at the time to the complex’s investors to move the project forward.

However, Albiach herself has rejected this step, claiming that a tax reform of this type would only bind Esquerra and the commons. “If the socialist party doesn’t vote for her, what good is it?” the leader of the Commons asked herself, an essential training to overcome the processing of the budgets in tomorrow’s plenary session, in an interview at the Cafè d’Idees in La 2 of TVE and Ràdio 4. “This would be trying to make fun of me and deceive the citizens and I will not do that,” said Albiach, who has once again demanded an “explicit commitment” from the president of the Generalitat, Pere Aragonès. , that Hard Rock will not be made.

The president of the En Comú Podem group, after ensuring that she trusts the president’s word, has revealed that she has not spoken to him for three weeks despite the intense negotiations between her two groups for the Catalan accounts, and has expressed her suspicions that Aragonès does not call him so as not to tell him something “that he cannot do or does not want to do” due to the PSC’s pressure, implying that the socialists would disassociate themselves from the agreement if he did so.

The leader of the commons, whose group registered an amendment to the entire accounts, maintains until the last moment her refusal to support the processing of the budgets. “What sense would it make for us to continue prolonging what we have not solved for five months?” he asked. Thus, if nothing changes, the plenary session of the Parliament will reject the processing of the accounts tomorrow and the Government will have to definitively extend those for 2023, which could lead to a scenario of early elections. “I am very convinced of what I am doing,” said Albiach, who has reproached Aragonès for not leading the negotiation and has called on him to negotiate with them “without pressure or blackmail” for a “clear” and “transparent agreement” to which it has shown itself willing.

Regarding the continuity of the Government if the accounts are finally rejected, the leader of the commons has considered that it is a “procedural executive with an obvious weakness” which, in her opinion, Hard Rock itself demonstrates, since it is ” letting the PSC show the way”. However, he has left the door open to govern with ERC and the PSC after elections based on the electoral results.

Regarding Esquerra’s contacts with Yolanda Díaz to pressure them regarding the general budgets of the State, Albiach has been calm since, as she explained, the leader of Sumar “knows the position of the commons on Hard Rock from the beginning.” and also thinks that “it is consistent with the line that Alberto Garzón took in the Ministry of Consumption.”

Hard Rock aside, the president of the En Comú Podem group has warned that the accounts presented are also “budgets without ambition that do not take into account the main challenges of the country” in matters, for example, of education. And he has put them in contrast with the previous budgets that they did help to approve “in an exercise of pragmatism” because, as he said, “there was not a single euro for Hard Rock and there was no risk that Hard Rock would throw away forward” despite the fact that the PSC supported them in exchange for, among other conditions, that the Government committed to the project.

“The time (to take action) is now,” Albiach justified because, as he said, the PDU urban master plan is about to be released that will allow this “macrocasino” to be built in Salou and Vila-seca. “Once the PDU is approved, it is hellish to have to stop it because there are acquired rights,” the leader of the commons has warned. “What I will not do is endorse what I consider to be nonsense and nonsense,” Albiach stressed.
